The possibilities for utilising public space are almost unlimited. With this in mind, Egoé presents new collections of street furniture. These consist of basic elements and various series of canopies that give streets, parks and squares additional functions. The collections create a link between private gardens and public spaces.

Each new collection is characterised by its own shapes, materials and colours. This diversity is reflected in basic elements such as litter bins and benches, but also in other furniture such as deckchairs or swivel chairs. Functional elements such as bicycle stands, fence posts, signposts and privacy screens complete the range. In addition, the entire product line is complemented by various series of steel and wooden canopies.

Basic features of the street furniture

The basis of the range is formed by five collections that are simply labelled with the letters A, E, I, O, U. This technical approach to naming reflects Egoé’s way of working – focussing on industrial design with the principle of maximum functionality. The most complex collection, the I-collection, includes various types of benches, swivel chairs, deckchairs, litter bins, flower tubs and bicycle stands. There are both pure steel constructions and combinations of steel, cast iron and aluminium with wood.

Functional elements with attention to detail

The fence posts are available in two basic shapes for modern and historical buildings. Steel bicycle boxes allow bicycles to be parked securely in front of buildings. Illuminated signposts can be attached to walls and posts and offer a versatile guidance system. Screen walls for litter bins are also available.

Shelters, outdoor classrooms and a modular exhibition system

Three series of shelters offer a wide range of applications. They range from typical applications such as bus stops, covered bicycle stands or sales stands to innovative elements that are only just becoming established in public spaces. These include modular exhibition and information systems that can be quickly set up anywhere, or open-air classrooms that can also be used as lecture rooms in the park. With all these elements, Egoé is rewriting the established norms of public space utilisation.

What’s next? Outdoor furniture, living and camping

Products for public spaces and infrastructure projects find their counterparts in the Egoé portfolio in the private sector. These include garden furniture, a complete living project in the smallest of spaces, skis and a camping kit that turns any car into a motorhome. All these products have one thing in common: they aim to bring comfort from indoors to outdoors. Everything is based on the conviction that ideas determine products.
